Grocery Assistant Manager
Food has always been a huge part of my life. My mom was always making concoctions to keep the bugs away from our garden–not wanting to spray chemicals on any food she or her children would be eating. Upon leaving home, I quickly realized not all food was created equal, and when I went to work for a grocery store in Yosemite National Park, I started my intentional food journey. I’ve worked for Sprouts and Natural Grocers in Denver, and when my husband’s job moved us to Rapid City, I quickly found the co-op was the place to shop for local, organic food. I love working in a place where the commitment to great food is high, and the community has bought into our mission of providing quality food from a locally owned business. I’m hoping to go as close to Zero Waste as possible in 2019 and am proud the bulk section of our store makes that easy! When I’m not working, sharing food with friends and family, or gardening, I enjoy getting outside with my husband Andrew and our perfect-in-every-way puppy Maggie. I have been (mostly) vegetarian for the past decade and would love to answer whatever questions you have about making the transition!
