My name is Susan Fedell. I am a longtime resident of Rapid City, although I lived in several other states as a child, college student, and young adult. I recently retired from Youth and Family Services, Inc. where I served as the CEO for 30+ years. Because we had excellent board members, committed staff, and visionary courage, we grew to serve 14,000 disadvantaged youth and their families in western SD. When I retired, we had 250+ employees, and an operating budget of $14 million. We had also completed 3 large capital projects. The favorite parts of my job were providing important opportunities for children and families, managing finances, mentoring staff, working with sharp and fun board members, developing policy, and strategic planning. I would be honored to serve on the Breadroot Coop because I believe it offers an important array of healthy and environmentally respectful products for our community.
