Special Orders at Breadroot

Dear Members:

In recent months, we have seen a steady increase in the total amount of our weekly grocery and produce orders. This includes members' special orders as well as the store's orders. As a result, we are finding it very difficult to get orders checked in and ready by the time we open on Thursday. Therefore, as of this week, June 1, special orders will not be available to pick up until NOON on Thursday. The store will open at 10 am as usual, but we won't have orders ready until noon.

Also, we do occasionally have a probably with members' misordering an item, or deciding they don't want the item after it has arrived. Such items can be sent back to Rainbow, but there is a restocking fee that you would have to pay, which is 20% of the item's cost. So, be careful when placing an order, to make sure you have the right product, right quantity, and so forth. Breadroot Co-op cannot be responsible for your mistakes or your changing your mind about a product you were sent.

We have 48 hours after the shipment is delivered to make credit claims for damaged goods or for mistakes that Rainbow makes in shipping. That is, until Saturday morning. When we check in the goods on Thursday, we are careful to catch their mistakes and damages, and may even open the package to make sure that all is well. We would appreciate it if members could pick up their orders by Saturday, and check each item ordered to see that it is correct and undamaged. That way, we can be sure to get full credit, with no re-stocking fee, for mistaken or damaged items.

On another note, we are looking for someone who would be able to send out a brief weekly newsletter from the store, via email. The newsletter could include information on goods that are on sale, new items in the store, great produce deals, recipes, staff notes, anything of lively interest to members. Please respond to this email if you can do this.
